The Archbishop has finally weighed-in on the rogue member of his Church and the actions taken at it's recent national convention. It's well thought out:

Issued just today, he obviously took the appropriate amount of time in this important opinion. I think that even though he goes to extraordinary lengths to soften the blow, the overall message will not be well received by those who think that actions taken by the Episcopal Church U.S.A. will somehow be accepted now or in the future by the worldwide Anglican communion. Those people could be called delusional. The die has been cast now. The U.S. Church has ventured too far out on the ice, with the gay/lesbian resolutions allowing ordination and blessing of same-sex unions.
The most important question is how quickly and how deeply this works to the division of the Church here in the U.S.. I think that things will begin to escalate fairly rapidly, with serious momentum given to the organization of an orthodox Church that already has some legs under it.
A new formula has been created by our Episcopal leadership: Inclusion = Division = Contraction. What is progress in their eyes, will result in regression. But none of that is their concern, apparently. So be it.
